I just had to. This post is a blog and email inspired entry. While reading Will Work For Food, I saw his posting of what he did with some extra strawberries and hit him up with my mascarpone cheesecake recipe.
WWFF said, “I bet that’d make a great cake if placed on top of mascarpone cheesecake!”
I said, “Aww man, that’s a great idea!”
There you have it. It’s also a great excuse to make it again. Not that I need one but it did give me a chance to spread some more slices around.
So which version did the tasters like more? It’s pretty split. Some like the contrasting texture of the fresh strawberries to the cheesecake better than the macerated strawberries. Others thought the balsamic vinegar added another dimension to the taste.
